Media Praises Lesbian For Telling Her “Hate Crime” Story, Then The TRUE Story Came Out, Another day, another Lisbian hate crime hoax.

Another day, another hate crime hoax. This one was perpetrated last August by a lesbian named Mari Poindexter, who claimed she was punched in the face by a stranger who also spewed slurs about her appearance and sexuality.
In a writeup by that was as much tribute as news story, northern Michigan Fox News affiliate WWTV reported that Poindexter (“an accomplished young woman, already having a master’s degree and hired on to teach business at Central Michigan University”) was enjoying an evening out with companions when she was cold-cocked:
“I opened up the [car] door and I was looking under the seat, I felt a tap on my shoulder and I just turned to see who it was and that’s when I was punched,” says Poindexter.
[…]
“At first I was planning on saying it was a sports injury or something like that because I couldn’t fathom that that kind of thing could happen and I didn’t want to be known as somebody who went through that”….
But Poindexter, reporter Lynsey Mukomel slobbers, summoned up the courage to go public in the hopes of raising awareness.
“A lot of people are afraid of what they don’t know and what they don’t understand. Things like gender expression, gender identity, sexuality, those are things that are sometimes uncomfortable topics to talk about,” says Poindexter.
Mt. Pleasant police launched an investigation, which came to an abrupt end last month when Poindexter admitted she had fabricated the attack, even going so far as to smack herself in the face hard to enough to give herself a black eye.
The Morning Sun, an area newspaper, notes that she became nervous when she learned that authorities had obtained surveillance video of the parking lot where the incident allegedly occurred:
“[Poindexter confessed that] she made the story up about being assaulted by a male subject at the bar and punched herself in the eye because she wanted to raise awareness about the social hardships of people in the LGBTQ+ community,” read a police statement in the court records.

Following her admission, Poindexter was arrested and charged with lying to a police officer and filing a false police report. She was sentenced to six months probation and fined $225.
