Toure, a co-host on MSNBC’s “The Cycle,” is black, as is Lemon. Toure later clarified that “white leaders,” in which he lumped together Bill O’Reilly, Rush Limbaugh and Lemon, means “leaders of white people.”
Toure got started on the topic after talking about the level of gun violence in the U.S., including “white-on-white” violence.

I've lost a lot of white friends to violence perpetrated by white people and it's time someone stood up to white on white violence.
The idea that Black violence is endemic & speaks to the character of Black people while white violence is deviant & rare is... disgusting.

Sorry for the confusion folks. "White leaders" was meant to connote "leaders of white people" not "leaders who are white."
@KatiePavlich It doesn't help Black men to be told pull up your pants. By that point they've already been failed by society.
Lemon made his initial comments in July, imploring blacks to “pay close attention to the hip-hop and rap culture that many of you embrace, a culture that glorifies … thug and reprehensible behavior.”
In addition to not sagging their pants, Lemon said blacks need to stop using the N-word, finish high school and lower the rate of children born out of wedlock.
