Three people were killed killed Saturday and 22 injured after a vehicle being driven by a suspected drunk driver crashed into a crowd of spectators at the Oklahoma State University homecoming parade, The Stillwater News Press reported.
The Stillwater, Okla., mayor confirmed the number of dead and said there were several who were injured critically. A woman behind the wheel of the vehicle was taken into custody on suspicion of driving under the influence, police said.
The accident happened midmorning Saturday. Officials said more than two dozen people were airlifted to area hospitals, the paper reported. Eight helicopters responded to the scene.
