The social justice warriors at Northern Arizona University are out for blood after the school’s president told them she doesn’t believe in providing “safe spaces” for students who feel oppressed by other viewpoints.
According to NBC 12 News Arizona, the trouble began last Wednesday during an open forum. A sophomore stood up and asked the school’s president, Rita Cheng, if she was serious about tackling issues of harassment.
“How can you promote safe spaces, if you don’t take action in situations of injustice, such as, last week when we had the preacher on campus and he was promoting hate speech against marginalized students?” the student asked. “As well as not speaking out against racist incidents like blackface two months ago by student workers followed by no reform and no repercussions?”
