Tina Fey Shames White Women for Voting Trump? So Ever One, it Over Feminist IS Dead
At an ACLU fundraiser on Friday, Tina Fey said white women should be ashamed of themselves for the part they played in electing Donald Trump last November. The former SNL and 30 Rock star said those women should not be allowed to escape blame.
“A lot of this election was turned by white, college-educated women who now would maybe like to forget about this election and go back to watching HGTV,” said Fey. “I would want to urge them to like, ‘You can’t look away’ because it doesn’t affect you this minute, but it’s going to affect you eventually.”
She said later, in what really sounded like a personal sacrifice, that she would make a promise as a member of that very class of people.
I personally will make my own pledge as a college-educated white woman to not look away, to not pretend that things are happening now won’t eventually affect me if we don’t put a stop to it,” she said.
There are so many layers of arrogance here that it’s hard to know where to start. First, Fey’s arrogance in thinking she can speak for “college educated white women” just because she happens to fit that identity. Second, her arrogance in thinking that it’s simply a fact that the Trump administration is eventually going to do harm to conservative American women. Third, her silly idea that she can “put a stop to it.”
When it comes down to it, though, she’s suffering from an even bigger delusion than a little term like “arrogance” can convey. Like all elitist liberals, she doesn’t see room for conservative ideology or opinion. She is the holder of The Truth and anything that is in conflict with that Truth is not just wrong, but dangerous.
Liberal feminists like Fey are no longer just fighting for a certain set of policies. They are fighting to make the United States an unwelcome home for anyone who disagrees with those policies. Wrong to pass laws that go against liberal ideology? Of course they would think that. But they now believe that it’s wrong to…BELIEVE THAT THEY ARE WRONG.
These feminists rose up out of the anti-establishment, radical hippie movements of the 1960s, but they have become every bit the fundamentalists they used to oppose. This was never about free speech or free anything. This was them toppling one system of thought and replacing it with another – one they now guard ruthlessly. And they’ll never admit that their “progress” is responsible for a great deal of the American misery we see today.
Hopefully, though, the average “Democrat out of habit” American is beginning to see that.
